The Brief:
Dan Hartman, as a solo artist, is well known for his disco hits “Instant Replay” and “Relight My Fire” in the late 70’s. And, for pop hits “I Can Dream About You” and “Second Nature” in the 80’s. But, did you also know that he was the bassist for the Edgar Winter Group and the author of one of their biggest hits “Free Ride”? Sadly, Dan passed away in 1994 at the young age of 43. “Second Nature” is the third single release from Dan’s sixth solo album, ‘I Can Dream About You’. It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart on February 9, 1985 at #80. It went Top 40 for 2 weeks, peaking at #39 and dropped off the chart after 12 weeks.
