The Brief:
After tasting success with Timex Social Club, Jay King and Denzil Foster joined up with Thomas McElroy, Valerie Watson and Samuelle Prater to form the “new club”… Club Nouveau. The first single for the band was “Jealousy” which was basically an “answer” to Timex Social Club’s “Rumors”. The group’s 1986 debut album was ‘Life, Love and Pain’ which went to #2 on the Billboard Hot Black Albums chart and #6 on the Top 200 albums chart.
