The Brief:
Before you met George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam on the radio, you had already heard from them but, may not have known it. As a songwriting team they wrote two number one hits for Whitney Houston: “How Will I Know” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)”. They also performed backing vocals on Deniece Williams‘ number one hit, “Let’s Hear It For The Boy”. As Boy Meets Girl, they released a self-titled album in 1985 which produced the single “Oh Girl” as its lead-off. This promo 12” features a “Specially Remixed Version” that was remixed by George.

They write such great pop songs!
Shame that in 1985 they made a remix for this minor hit, but didn’t bother three years later with a single that became their biggest!
actually, I prefer this song over “Star” but, yeah, an extended mix of that would have been welcome
