The Brief:
Blaque was formed in Altanta, GA in the late 90′s and consisted of three members, Shamari Fears-Devoe, Natina Reed, and Brandi Williams. Blaque is an acronym for Believing in Life and Achieving a Quest for Unity in Everything. The group signed with Lisa Lopes’ “Left Eye Productions” and released their self-titled debut album with Columbia Records distribution in 1999. “808″ was the lead single from the album and it was produced by R. Kelly. The remix production was handled by Poke and Tone for Track Masters Entertainment, Inc. The remix incorporates LL Cool J’s “Going Back To Cali” in almost a mash-up type track. Excellent mix.
