The Brief:
Belinda Jo Carlisle got her first taste of the music business with a brief stint as Dottie Danger, the drummer for the punk band The Germs. After that brief gig, she co-founded The Go-Go’s (originally named The Misfits), with friends and fellow musicians Margot Olaverria, Elissa Bello, and Jane Wiedlin. Olaverria and Bello soon left the group and the new line-up included bassist-turned-guitarist Charlotte Caffey, guitarist-turned-bassist Kathy Valentine, and drummer Gina Schock. After the Go-Go’s broke up in 1985, Belinda pursued a solo career and released her debut solo album ‘Belinda’ in 1986. The lead single from that LP was “Mad About You”. Today’s post is the 12” single release of that song as remixed by William Orbit.
