The Brief:
Released in 1983, “Into Battle with the Art of Noise’ was the debut of the Art of Noise and the first release from the ZTT record label. The Art of Noise were an avant-garde synthpop group and were the most different sounding band I had ever heard at that point in my life and still are one of them. The single for “Beat Box” came in as a promo to the college radio station I DJ’d at my first year of college. I immediately put it into rotation on my show and searched out this EP. All songs were written by Anne Dudley, Trevor Horn, J.J. Jeczalik, Gary Langan, and Paul Morley. According to info I found at www.theartofnoiseonline.com, Billboard chart information:

Hot Dance Club Play * Peak: 1 * Weeks: 13 * USA
