Alexander O’Neal has had a longstanding relationship with R&B fans in the UK where he has remained popular even as interest in his music declined in the US. Alex still holds the record for an African-American performer selling out six straight nights at London’s Wembley Arena. The UK single release of “The Lovers” peaked at #28 on the UK charts, besting the #41 position he achieved on the US R&B charts. The UK 12” includes “Bonus Beats” not available on the US 12” release.
