The Brief:
Al Jarreau is the only vocalist in history to net Grammy Awards in three different categories: jazz, pop, and R&B, respectively. His sixth LP since 1975 was simply titled ‘Jarreau’ and was released in 1983. The first single from that album was “Boogie Down” which is featured today from a promo 12” containing the Long Version and LP Version of the song.

Jarreau is actually my favourite album from Al. Like, Benson’s 20/20, so many great tunes in that album, both singles and album tracks alike.
Love the touch of jazz you’ve got for us this week.
