The Brief:
The first of 3 singles from Aerosmith’s “Permanent Vacation” album that heralded the band’s comeback that had taken root with their earlier collaboration with Run-D.M.C. on the classic Aerosmith hit ‘Walk This Way’. ‘Dude’ reached #14 on the Billboard Hot 100, #41 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart, #4 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and peaked at #45 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was written by songwriter Desmond Child, lead guitarist Joe Perry and lead singer Steven Tyler. Remixes on this release were done by John Luongo.
